TV Asia is North America's first coast-to-coast entertainment and information channel for the community from the Indian subcontinent.

The network was founded in April-1993, by legendary Indian movie star Amitabh Bachchan

In 1997 as part of a restructuring of the network, a well-known entrepreneur and community leader based in the United States, H.R. Shah,  took TV Asia into the new era. Known as a turnaround expert, Shah's backing, resources and the fact that he is based in the U.S., gave TV Asia a huge boost, making it the premier network in North America for those from the Indian subcontinent

Owned by Asia Star Broadcasting Inc., backed by an international consortium of media professionals and businessmen, the channel draws on a significant level of expertise in broadcasting and the media.

TV Asia airs regularly scheduled programming in Hindi, English, Gujarati   other regional languages, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As South Asians choose to maintain a close interest with the affairs of their homeland, this channel is dedicated to bringing the South Asian-American community together by delivering a high quality channel both in content and on-screen presentation. The channel's appeal is based on its wide range of programming, ensuring the broadest possible audience.
